Spanish Language Immersion in Cusco - Tips
There's not much difference between the four seasons, however there is two specific times of the year: the Rainy Season from November to March and the Dry Season from April to October. Year round it is cold at night (30's to 40's) - No homes have heaters. High altitude! Day temp. ranges from high 60's to 70's. April to Sept is the coldest time day temp. high 60's & 30's at night.
Cusco is 3,310 meters/11,000 feet above sea level. It is best to allow yourself a day or two to acclimate upon arrival. Rest and avoid heavy meals and alcohol. Even if you are in excellent physical condition before arriving there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by altitude sickness. Your first few days of acclimating could be a great chance to enjoy the cheap taxi fares in Cusco!
There is a medical station in the airport if arriving visitors have any immediate problems with the altitude. In Spanish altitude sickness is known as 'sorroche'. A common Peruvian natural cure is 'mate de coca', a tea made from boiling the leaves of the coca plant.

Large colonial building. It is located on one of the many small plazas in Cusco, called Limacpampa Grande.
The building houses 17 classrooms on two floors, an indoor patio, video room, auditorium, entertainment room, wireless internet access and an interior plaza.

After class & weekend activities
Enjoy social & cultural outings during the week with other students from the school, 2 activities or trips per week are included in the immersion and could include cooking class & dance classes, lectures, museums visits and many more.
You should take the opportunity to climb the Inca Trail to the ruins of Machu Picchu, an incredible experience which can be done a in several ways from 1 - 5 days. The best way to do this, is by booking a tour/trek with a tour operator in Cusco, they will also provide all the walking, camping equipment you will need for the climb. You can also take the easy option and catch the train (see video)

Arrival airport: LIMA
Most students arrive into Lima (Jorge Chavez International Airport) which is located 16 km Northwest of Lima. Students usually need to stay overnight in Lima to catch an internal flight to Cusco as these flights take place in the morning. Due to flight times, most students fly into via Lima on the Saturday before classes start, and spend that night in Lima.
